Comidas para Familias Necesitadas

Translation: Meals for Needy Families

With the holiday season at hand, many programs are dedicated to helping families in need.  Though some campaigns, like that of the Salvation Army, are better known, local drives can be just as powerful.

On November 23, eight Spanish students and two Spanish teachers from WBHS participated in an event at El Centro Hispano in Milwaukee aimed at providing Thanksgiving dinners to needy families.  The volunteers set up an “assembly line” that produced a total of 1,500 complete meals in about two and a half hours. The Current View: Teacher Surveys

How do you feel about the new surveys that give
students a chance to rate their teachers?

Taylor Berndt“I think that the teacher surveys aren’t that great. Students all have different views on what a ‘good’ teacher is, and I don’t think it’s fair for teachers to take those hits. Plus, it’s a huge waste of class time. If someone doesn’t appreciate something a teacher is doing, talk to the teacher personally or talk to a counselor or principal.”
