A Bittersweet End to the Wisconsin Little Ten

The eight Wisconsin Little Ten conference teams are being sent their separate ways.

When the current spring athletic season ends, the WLT will dissolve due to conference realignments by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association in order to improve competition throughout the state. Each tennis state qualifier from WBHS is a valedictorian candidate

West Bend girls tennis has been serving up aces both on and off the court for the past four years.

This season four East seniors and one West junior qualified to play in the WIAA Division 1 Girls State Individual Tennis Tournament in Madison on Oct. 13-14. Perhaps even more impressive, though, is that all five girls have a perfect 4.0 GPA and are potential valedictorians. Continue reading

Keberle Will Stay in Wisconsin

East junior Lexi Keberle has verbally committed to play tennis at the University of Wisconsin.

After winning two state titles in her first two years of high school with a record of 61-0, Keberle committed to Wisconsin on Aug. 15. The verbal commitment is a promise between both Keberle and the university that a formal signing will occur during her senior year. Continue reading

From Switzerland to West Bend

Ski racing team welcomes exchange student

“Where is the hill?,” Camille Kaufmann asked when she discovered that WBHS had a ski racing team.

Kaufmann is a foreign exchange student from Switzerland who grew up ski racing in the mountains of Switzerland, which boasts elevations as high as 15,000 feet. This elevation advantage made Kaufmann stand out during ski practices. Continue reading
