Prom 2013

Prom 2013- for some, it is our first, for some, our last. Whichever it may be, the key is to make it memorable. With all the stress fourth quarter brings, AP tests, ACTs, finals, remember that prom is a night to celebrate. Ring in your last two months with thumping music and flowing dresses. Whether you’re going with a date or friends, make sure this night is one you will never forget.

What can you do to make this night unforgettable?

  • Make sure to document your night with tons of pictures. It’s always a great idea to have a location in mind. Gather your friends in your backyard, take a group down to the lake, or maybe a park right here in town. Hire a photographer or have a parent or sibling come along to take pictures.
  • Make sure you’re prepared! Try your hardest to avoid last minute prom prepping. Double check that your dresses and tuxes will be altered on time. Know what you’re going to do with your hair, make-up, etc. Make sure you have a ride to prom, rent a limo, borrow your mom’s mini van, or carpool with friends.
  • Start the night out right. Prom doesn’t start until late, but why not dedicate your whole day to fun! You can plan a pre-prom party, hang out at a friend’s house, or maybe spend the day with your date. As mentioned before, remember to take loads of picture!
  • The immense preparations will pay off when you finally arrive at the dance full of beautiful, flowing ball gowns and dashing tuxes. Prom is a night for elegance and fun! Spend your night dancing and hanging out with friends. Make sure to have the time of your life!

Once prom is over it seems like a waste to just go home and hang up that dress. Find something to do after prom. There is always a traditional post-prom party, like a sleepover with some close friends. Maybe this year you want to try something different. You could go out for a late dinner at George Webb. You could find a bowling alley open and do some cosmic bowling or go to a midnight premiere. Whatever you choose to do remember to make good decisions, and most of all, have fun!
