Semester Exam Schedule
Exams will begin January 16

Starting Friday, Jan. 16, students at the West Bend High Schools will take semester exams. The exams will last three days. Exams for periods one through three will be taken Jan. 16; periods four and five will be taken the following Monday, Jan. 19; and the last periods, six and seven, will be taken Tuesday, Jan. 20. The Clock Is Ticking

Community Survey Now Open

Today the West Bend School District opened a survey to the public about the possible reconfiguration of the West Bend high schools. Members of the school district are welcomed to take part in an online conversation covering different aspects of the situation and are encouraged to use the survey to make their opinion known. The survey can be found here.
Interested people can find a printed version of the survey at all district schools and at the district office. The survey will also be mailed to the homes of area residents.
Feedback sessions are also being held Sept. 16, 17, 25 and 29.

Stuffed Crust Pizza Coming Soon
Taste test results have already altered the lunch menu and cafeteria vending machines

Wouldn’t it make your day to see your favorite meal on your lunch tray? Or your favorite snack in the cafeteria vending machines?
In February, about 200 WBHS students made their way after school into the West cafeteria to taste test samples of 14 items that were new to the kitchen. These new foods—such as burritos, pizzas, soups, and much else—needed student approval and suggestions. The students’ opinions impacted the new menu. Continue reading

Building Blocks
WBHS will likely adopt a block schedule

If a new proposal passes, students will only have four classes per day.
The West Bend High Schools administrators have been discussing the option of converting to a block schedule. If all are in favor, the change can happen two years from now. According to Principal Jim Curler, there is a “fifty-fifty chance” that at the start of the 2016-2017 school year students and teachers will be following a different kind of schedule.
